April 2012 - Updates and New Announcements!

Happy Spring! We love Spring here at CMW because it means we get to usher in a whole new line of products along with providing the latest updates.

We have received many emails and letters asking when the new TDH 3610 bus in HO and N scale and the new HO 1950 DeSoto sedans will be shipping. Officially... the final adjustments to the new DeSoto tooling and some tune-ups to the TDH 3610 tooling caused some early delays. But production has started for both items and we expect them to arrive this May.

The HO scale Scenicruiser tooling is well on its way and we anticipate the 1st "test shots" to be in our hands by late April. Baring any unforeseen tooling issues, we should be on track to ship the "Original 1954" version in August 2012. We will keep you updated on our home website and our Facebook page.

As many of you know, CMW conducted another Survey in March. To put it mildly... it was a huge success! We want to thank the nearly 1400 dedicated modelers and collectors of all things Mini Metals for taking the time to inform and enlighten us. We are still analyzing the data, but we have already begun to put some of your input into action. Stay tuned for more.

And finally... introducing Eleven NEW Mini Metals for Summer 2012! Four 1953 Ford Couriers and four 141/46 Chevrolet trucks are based on actual vehicles used during the Transition Period. Including two U.S. Mail prototypes perfect for model railroad layouts that feature U.S. Mail operations of the Pre and Post World War II eras.

Since our delivery of the 41/46 Chevrolet delivery trucks last Fall, you have asked... well more like screamed for unmarked "factory" versions of the box trucks in order to apply your own graphics. AND you wanted them in two colors. So, here they are the most requested versions of our 41/46 Chevrolet truck models - the Swifts Red Cab with Silver Delivery Box and the Brewster Green Cab with Silver Delivery Box. Just like they rolled off the Chevrolet assembly line in the 1940's.

Rounding out this Summer's new line-up will be a beautiful rendition of Yellow Freight's early 1940's billboard scheme on the Mini Metals AeroVan trailer pulled by a 41/46 Chevrolet single-tandem tractor cab.

Stay tuned for frequent updates including major announcements for N scalers!
